This glassed in floor divides the dining room and the drawing room of a home with a sky light and there is a niche where a figure of a virgin is placed. The client wanted me to reproduce a Japanese garden on the floor. I painted a path imitating granite stones with lichen on them and moss in between. The outside wall of the niche, on which the virgin is placed, is sponged in various colours. The floor and the niche wall are painted freehand with acrylic paint. The floor has two layers of varnish to protect it. Around the figure of the Virgin ten mysteries drawn freehand and covered with gold leaf, shadowed with china ink to outline and add volume to the drawings. I painted the signs with acrylic paint and the letters are also written with acrylic paint with a fine paint brush.
