Chinese red laquer wall

This imitation of chinese red laquer is painted on the walls of an oriental restaurant in the Torrelodones casino, Madrid. The background is bright red eggshell, and then glazed over with oil colour. The moldings are guilded with yellow gold metal transfer leaf applied over oil gold size. It is all protected with a coat of gloss varnish.
